Young and Emerging Adults

Entering adulthood is like stepping into a whole new world—a mix of excitement and uncertainty. It's a time when you're figuring out who you are and what you want from life.

For 18-29 Year Olds

Between the ages of 18 and 29, you're exploring independence and making some of the biggest decisions of your life that can have a lasting impact on your future.

This transformative life stage is a crucial juncture in understanding and establishing your identity. In today's fast-paced world, with so many choices and challenges, it might feel like you're navigating a maze without a map.

Together we can explore:

  • What is important to you when it comes to education and employment

  • How do you feel about emotional intimacy and your personal boundaries?

  • Are there any aspects of your gender or sexuality you feel unsure about or would like to explore further?

  • Are there any lifestyle changes or habits you could incorporate to enhance your overall health—physically, mentally, emotionally?

  • How are you currently managing substance use in your life, and are there any adjustments you'd like to make to ensure it stays within healthy limits?

  • What do you need in order to feel seen, heard, respected, and fulfilled?

“I don’t know” and “What if …” are phrases I hear time and time again from young adults feeling anxious, uncertain, or overwhelmed about moving forward and building their futures. I am here to support you in this period of change. Together, we can embrace your uncertainty and build trust within yourself so you feel confident making important decisions.

For Parents and Caregivers of 18-29 Year Olds

This period can also be incredibly challenging for parents and caregivers, who find themselves watching from the sidelines. It's natural to question when to offer guidance to your adult child and when to step back, as you strive to determine the best ways to support them on their journey.

I provide practical solutions and complete transparency to assist you in assisting your child in moving toward their next chapter. With this support, you gain the freedom and space you deserve while nurturing a loving, supportive, and appropriate relationship with your child.

Let us consider:

  • How do you see your role as the parent to an adult child?

  • Are you accepting of your child’s boundaries and expectations?

  • Do you have a sense of “losing control” as your child matures?

  • Is it a struggle to know when and how to step back or offer guidance?

  • Are there difficult conversations you need to have as a family?

As required, I can work with both you and your child in shared sessions to determine the best possible outcome as your relationship shifts.
